Wisconsin (The Gaslamp Post) – A woman was sentenced late last month after pleading guilty to ripping off the tax-payer by scamming the welfare system. Angela Burchett, 36, was charged with two counts of public assistance fraud, after investigators say she took $22,403.18 in public assistance as well as publicly funded medical benefits. She said that she needed it because she had no income for herself and her children, and that her husband split.

The problem was that her husband had not split, he worked for the railroad and earned a considerably handsome salary. With overtime, he was bringing home between $64,480 and $80,000, and his belongings were all over the home. Her husband told investigators that he received his mail, ate, and slept there, but only two to three times a week, every two or three weeks.
The couple also filed joint tax-returns.
Ms. Burchett was also alleged to have been using her public health benefits in addition to the health insurance that her husband had through work. When asked about it, Burchett told investigators that ”it was helpful.”
“It does bother me because it really takes away from those that are in need and we really need to help the families and children in our community with our programs,” said Jenny Hoffman, supervisor of Brown County Human Services.
Ms. Burchett pleaded guilty to one count of felony public assistance fraud under a plea deal. She was sentenced to one year in jail and two additional years probation. She will be required to pay back $16,052.18, that she took in benefits in both assistance and medical assistance benefits.

F–k all of US? I BEG YOUR PARDON, it wasn’t US who ripped off the tax payer. It wasn’t US who was found guilty and sent to jail for defrauding the government. Might I suggest investing in something that will broaden your vocabulary? Mastering four-letter words is no major feat of genius.

Pray for me? That’s a pretty major claim, hope you hold up your end; the Almighty doesn’t take kindly to empty promises like that.
Question for you: How are you going to tell me on one hand to “go to hell” and on the other, tell me to “go to church”?
I will overlook the obvious blasphemes in your response, but I what I will say is this…
Even inasmuch as you may think that this story is judgmental (obviously, otherwise you wouldn’t have decided to come back to rant after several months have gone by) the judgement was already made. This is only a report of actual facts put out in public by a news outlet.
Throwing flames does absolutely nothing to the messenger; it’s the same as breaking a mirror when one has a bad hair day.
Do not tell me, or any other American tax payer that this situation is none of our business. We’re ALL having difficulties, and for someone to get caught screwing around, after the rest of us have to struggle, is ludicrous!
Wisconsin, just like every other state gets annual funds in order to make sure people get what they need. People like to think in broader terms, as if to make themselves think that they’re not bilking their neighbor.
Me “F–K off?” No dear, I believe it is the other way around… This is absolutely every American tax-payer’s business.
