The accused, Maj. Nidal Hasan, primary suspect in the 2009 Ft. Hood massacre which killed 13 and injured 32.

The United States (The Gaslamp Post) - The pre-trial hearing for the accused shooter in the 2009 Ft. Hood massacre has been delayed.  Suspect Maj. Nidal Hasan reportedly violated Army grooming regulations by appearing in court, sporting a beard.  This violation posed a disruption to the court proceedings.

Last Friday’s hearing was supposed to focus on some discovery matters as well as a defense request for a neurologist.  Hasan remains in a wheelchair from injuries sustained during his alleged attack.

Maj. Hasan’s defense attorneys indicated that they would file for an exception to the policy seeking a religious accommodation, citing Hasan is a muslim.

Col. Gregory Gross said that a new hearing would be scheduled soon, but Hasan would have to watch the proceedings via closed circuit camera if he refused to comply with an order to ”appear with proper military grooming standards.”
