California (Sign on San Diego) – The county Medical Examiner’s Office has revised its news release on the death of a man who fell Monday from the eighth floor of a parking structure at San Diego City Hall.

The first news release on the medical examiner’s website said the man fell about 3:15 p.m. after losing his balance while trying to hang fliers from the parking structure’s outside walls. The listing now reads only that the man “apparently fell.”

The man’s fall occurred near the Occupy San Diego protest movement encampment on the plaza. About 200 to 300 demonstrators were there as part of the nationwide nonviolent protest against corporate greed.

San Diego police said Monday that the death was an apparent suicide, but the medical examiner’s first news release contradicted that.
