Shitbag Ex-Teacher Gets 25 Years for Fling With 13-Year-Old Student

Lifetime probation also is ordered for church youth leader

Arizona (Kim Smith-Arizona Daily Star) – He promised he would marry her. He spoke often about their future children. He reserved motels for romantic nights out and wooed her on Facebook and through email.

And, on Tuesday, he was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a lifetime on probation.

Joshua Carroll was a 28-year-old eighth-grade science teacher and church youth leader.

She was one of his 13-year-old students at River of Life Christian School, 6902 E. Golf Links Road.

Carroll was indicted in May on a dozen felony charges pertaining to his sexual relationship with the girl and the 200-plus child-pornography images found on his computer.

He pleaded guilty to two of those counts in August and was facing 13 to 42 years in prison.

Carroll was arrested after the girl’s mother found sexually explicit messages on the girl’s Facebook page and in her email, according to court documents.
