Michigan (Peggy Walsh-Sarnecki-Detroit Free Press) – A Macomb Township mother is accused of sending her 11-year-old daughter into Kroger with a shopping list — of items to steal. Right…
Kimberly Ryan Swift, 29, was arraigned today in 41-A District Court, charged with two misdemeanors, retail fraud II, which carries a one-year penalty, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which carries a 90-day penalty. It should be 3 counts, seeing as how she’s screwed up all 3 kids, by pulling this stunt! How many times did she get away with this?
Swift sent her daughter into a Kroger at 21 Mile and Card Road in Macomb Township on Thursday with the shopping list and no intention of paying, according to Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham. Had a list all written up and everything, huh? Great parenting, MOM. Swift waited in the car with two other children, ages 5 and 8, while the 11-year-old loaded up her cart and walked out of the store without paying. Sure, make the kid take all the risk while she sat her ass in the car. Anyone wish to nominate her for 2012 Mother of the Year?
Oh crap! I never did 2011 Mother of the Year… Well that’s coming soon, folks.
Then Swift took two bottles of detergent back into the store and tried to return them, saying her daughter had bought the wrong brand. Oh that’s balls. Some people honestly believe that they’re smarter than everyone else. I wonder… when the kid got back to the car, did mom look over everything, see that the kid got the wrong detergent, flip her shit on the kid for getting the wrong kind, and THEN decide to go in? But the store’s loss prevention system showed the detergent had never been paid for, and Swift was taken into custody. Well so much for being smarter, you should’ve just taken your free shit and left. That’s what you get for being an idiot.
The three children have been placed in the care of family members.
What a great story, huh, America? Mom won’t steal but she’ll put her kid up to it. Does parental compassion and guidance get any better than this? Fucking loser…
Hey, I have a real off-the-wall question; where the hell is the kid’s father? Someone else had to contribute 50% of the kid’s DNA, right? I mean, kids just don’t appear out of thin air… well they do if you have teenagers, but that’s a different story.
I can understand tough times, being without means, and living hand to mouth, but there has to be more to this story. Poverty doesn’t make one put their kid at risk like this, poor parenting, does. What’s really sad, is that this is the example she chose to set for her kids. Had she thought this through first, she might have realized what she was doing and the future she was providing, by programming her kids with this example. Great job, mom. Thanks for screwing up the next generation.
