Who’s never wanted to do this to their teenager?

Florida (The Gaslamp Post)  –   A school district say a ninth grade teacher should be dismissed over allegations that she placed “cones of shame” around the necks of some of her students.  According to the Pasco County school district, Zaphyrhills high school teacher, Laurie Bailey-Cutkomp had fitted some of her unruly students with the collars as a disciplinary measure.

According to the school, this had been done as many as 8 times over a two-day period, back in April.  Parents of the students had learned of the incidents after they reported seeing cell phone photos turn up on Facebook.  They promptly went to school officials with their complaints.

Pasco County schools superintendent Heather Fiorentino has recommended the teacher’s dismissal.  Bailey-Cutkomp is intending to appeal the recommendation, and has requested a hearing before the school board.
