Tennessee (The Gaslamp Post) – A pair who tried to rob the occupants of a Memphis apartment this past Saturday night are most likely reconsidering career choices, after one of their intended victims started shooting.  According to the Commercial Appeal, police reported a man and an accomplice had gone to the door of an apartment, and asked to speak to someone inside.

Police say that once the two gained entry, one of the men, identified by police as 18-year-old, Deunte Scurlark, produced a handgun and ordered everyone onto the ground and to empty their pockets.  One of the occupants of the apartment reportedly pulled a gun and fired several shots at Scurlark, striking him multiple times.

The two assailants fled the apartment but Scurlark only made it a few yards away before collapsing.  No word yet if his accomplice has been apprehended.  He was described as a tall, slender, black, male, wearing dark clothing, and carrying a load in his shorts.

Scurlark was treated at a nearby hospital and released to police, where he was taken into custody and charged with criminal aggravated robbery.
