Tennessee (The Gaslamp Post) – A man who was robbed at gunpoint, in a dark parking lot, is reported to have shot and killed one of his assailants.  Police say that two men approached Howard Bridgeforth, at around 9:00 pm, Saturday night, produced a gun, and took his wallet.

This was the robber’s last mistake.

Mr. Bridgeforth, who is a concealed carry permit holder, according to the Tennessean, reportedly drew his legally owned and carried handgun, and shot the man pointing a gun at him.  The robber, identified as 28-year-old Javonte Jacquez Johnson, a convicted felon, died at the scene.

Johnson’s accomplice is reported to have run off.  He is described as a black male in his late teens, with short hair, and was wearing dark clothing.  Anyone with information about the identity or the whereabouts of the accomplice is asked to call Crimestoppers at (901)74-CRIME, or by text, including the word “CASH” in their tip to 274637.

Police are performing a routine investigation into the matter, but said that they do not expect to charge Bridgeforth.
