Ouazzani admitted to performing various tasks for al-Qadia, inside the United States as well as sending them upwards of $23,000 in monetary support.  He reportedly swore an oath to the terrorist organization in Brooklyn, New York, back in 2008 when he joined al-Qadia.  He had been sending money to the organization as far back as 2007, according to the Kansas CIty Star.

The two other men; Sabirhan Hasanoff and Wesam El-Hanafi of New York were also charged and pleaded guilty to charges stemming from their roles in the conspiracy.  A connection was finally made between Hasanoff, El-Hanafi and Ouazzani in a New York courtroom Monday, and some undisclosed details regarding the “other tasks” Ouazzani had done for the group surfaced.

Hasanoff and Hanafi were accused of updating the terrorist organization’s computers and networking abilities, and had obtained software that would enable them to communicate over the internet securely.
