Colorado (The Gaslamp Post) – If you thought right was wrong and up was down before America, hang on…  It gets better.  Apparently a business owner in America isn’t allowed decide what he will or will not sell of his own efforts.  If that sounds like socialism to you, you might not be too far off the mark.

Jack Phillips, bakery owner who refused to compromise his beliefs by selling gay couple a wedding cake.

A locally famed baker, one Mr. Jack Phillips, owner of the Masterpiece Cake Shop, had recently outright refused to bake a “wedding cake” for a couple of gay men who had gone to his bakery in order to decide on a cake for their wedding.  After they were turned away, they went immediately to their Facebook accounts to complain and muster support for their cause.

Their cause?  Someone did not give them what they wanted…

When a toddler does that, it’s called a tantrum, when a gay couple does it, it’s considered a call-to-action.

“My first comment was, ‘we’re getting married.’ And he kind of just shut that down immediately,” said bride-to-be… or groom-to-be… or whatever, Mr. Charlie Craig, according to the Blaze.

Craig and his fiance, Mr. Dave Mullen, reportedly dated for about two years before they made the decision to walk down the aisle.  They planned to spend their day tasting various kinds of cake before deciding to settle on the one.  That was, until they ran into an individual who didn’t buy into what they were doing.

Phillips, an artisan who takes his craft seriously and has historically been sought out for his abilities is standing his ground on his decision.  He is reportedly taking this request seriously because it goes against everything he believes in, and is an event that he along with others, believes should not exist.

“If it came to that point, we would close down the bakery before we would compromise our beliefs so that may be what it comes to… we’ll see,” said Phillips to WPTV-TV.

He went on to say that he has no prejudice against gays, he just draws the line at gay marriage.  “If gays come in and want to order birthday cakes or any cakes for any occasion, graduations, or whatever, I have no prejudice against that whatsoever,” said Phillips according to CBS4 Denver.  “It’s just the wedding cake, not the people, not their lifestyle.”

That wasn’t enough for the brides or… grooms or… whatever, to be.  The couple has called for a boycott of Phillips’ business in order to punish him for having different views.

As many as two dozen protestors reportedly gathered out in front of his business last Saturday in order to show solidarity in make Phillips see the error of his ways.  “It’s just a cake. We’ve also had supporters say, ‘We don’t support gay marriage but not selling a cake to a gay couple is wrong,” said Mullen.

It’s amazing that out of demanding tolerance, all they really did was show themselves to be intolerant and act as bullies when they didn’t get their way.  If you agree with their ways then you’re fine, but God help you if you don’t think like them.

Equality only applies if you agree with them.

No brainer folks.
