Did Romney Campaign Catch D.C. Based Organization Red-Handed, Trying To Register Dead People To Vote?

Posted on July 31, 2012

Virginia (The Gaslamp Post) – The presidential campaign for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has apparently blown the lid off of a scam being orchestrated by a Washington D.C. based, “non-partisan” organization that was caught red-handed, sending pre-populated voter registration forms to hundreds of thousands of voters throughout the state.

So what is the problem one would ask?  The forms are being sent, although addressed to Virginia residents, were also sent to people who are either deceased, deceased relatives of the residents who are deceased, resident’s under aged children, and others who would be otherwise ineligible to vote.

According to the Times-Dispatch, there were cases of family pets being sent the forms as well.  The recent move has generated hundreds of complaints from residents throughout the state and is what was responsible for bringing the matter to the attention of the Romney campaign.

In a letter to the Virginia State Board Of Elections, the Romney campaign has asked that state officials look into the many incidents.  Candidate Romney’s campaign asked Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to launch an investigation into a suspicious move on the part of the Voter Participation Center.

The organization has been mass-mailing the forms — pre-populated with key information such as names and addresses — to primarily Democratic-leaning voting blocs such as young adults, unmarried women, African-Americans and Latinos.

This development has attorney for the Romney campaign Kathryn Bieber, calling for law-enforcement officials to investigate the mailings, claiming that at least one, if not more Virginia state laws are being violated.

Bieber refers to the mailings as “tactics that amount to, or at the very least induce, voter registration fraud,” and says the issue “presents a very significant risk to the proper administration of the upcoming general election.”

At the center of this; the Voter Participation Center, claims to be a non-partisan organization according to it’s founder and CEO, Page Gardner.  Gardner, who credits herself with starting the “Women’s Voices.  Women Vote Action Fund,” or WVWV, owes considerably to the communist and George Soros-tied, “Tides Foundation”.  The WVWV was exposed by News Buster’s Michael Finkelstein in 2006, as a project of the Tides Foundation.

Also involved in and a major financial driving force into the WVWV project was none other than former presidential candidate and Massachusetts Senator John Forbes Kerry’s wife, leftist Teresa Heinz Kerry (widow of former Rep. John Heinz (R-PA)).

According to Gardner, her organization mailed “200,000 third-party registration forms to Virginia addresses in June, which resulted in 15,026 new voters being registered as of July 18.”

The letter from the Romney campaign asks that Virginia state registrars reject all pre-populated forms and look into the eligibility of all registered voters as of July 18, 2012.

In a response to the accusation by the Romney campaign, the Voter Participation Center claimed that everything they did was well within the constrains of Virginia state law, and then go on to accuse the Romney campaign of interfering with voter registration efforts.  They went on to tow the popular claim that legitimate requests for voter legitimacy was nothing more than the Republican’s way of keeping people from voting.

“The Romney campaign’s request for a probe into over 15 thousand returned legal and state-approved registration application forms is part of a blatant and ongoing partisan effort to keep people from voting, “ said VPC founder and president Page Gardner.

“Our job right now is to advise our client, the SBE, as they work to ensure the law is complied with and that the voter registration process is not compromised,” said spokesman for Attorney General Cuccinelli, Brian Gottstein.  “With regard to an investigation, any type of investigation on the part of our office would have to be initiated by a request from SBE.  The SBE has not made such a request.”

Now do we all see how dead people vote?  Is it any wonder that there is such a fury against voter id laws?
