Democrat Senate Candidate Dumped By His Own Party For Belonging To A Hate Group – Wait, WHAT?!?!??!?!?!?!

Since when is being pro-life and pro-marriage, hateful?  This ain’t your daddy’s Democrat party, kids…

Tennessee (The Gaslamp Post) – The Democratic Party is dumping a candidate of theirs even though the people in his state voted for him.  Democratic candidate Mark Clayton won his party’s nomination to run for the U.S. Senate in November, receiving nearly twice as many votes as his closest competitor.

The problem?  According to the Tennessean, Clayton belongs to a Washington D.C. based “hate group.”  Clayton’s work with Public Advocate of the United States, a pro-life, pro-marriage organization is apparently not the image that the Tennessee Democratic Party wishes to reflect.

In a press release on their website, the Tennessee Democratic Party reportedly smeared Clayton in an online press release:

“The only time that Clayton has voted in a Democratic primary was when he was voting for himself,” the party said in a news release. “Many Democrats in Tennessee knew nothing about any of the candidates in the race, so they voted for the person at the top of the ticket. Unfortunately, none of the other Democratic candidates were able to run the race needed to gain statewide visibility or support.

“Mark Clayton is associated with a known hate group in Washington, D.C., and the Tennessee Democratic Party disavows his candidacy, will not do anything to promote or support him in any way, and urges Democrats to write-in a candidate of their choice in November.”

I hate to burst your bubble Democrats, but it appears that your party has been hijacked.  Your party is denying the people the candidate that they wanted.

That’s not right.
