Wisconsin (The Gaslamp Post) -Police say a man they stopped after receiving a call about a peeping tom had some strange items on him.  Responding to a call from a 50-year-old woman who said she had caught the man on camera looking in her windows, police found the man she described just before 2:00 am, last Sunday morning.

The woman said she had seen Paul Ruoff, 45, approach her bedroom window on a camera she had installed after seeing him peering in windows of some of her neighbors.  She said that he had approached her in June completely nude, while she was sitting on her front porch, and had asked her the time.

Officers said that they found a bag of used men’s underwear in his truck, as well a a pair of woman’s underwear.  He was also reported to have had shorts, a semi-automatic handgun inside of his truck, binoculars, and  identification belonging to a 21-year-old man.  He reportedly told police that he was driving around to check up on some properties that he owns, but later admitted that he owns no such properties in the area.

He told police that the used underwear were used as paint rags and that his handgun which they found behind his seat was to protect him from coyotes when he hunted, according to the Lacrosse Tribune.

Ruoff was taken into custody after police reviewed the tape of that incident as well as another incident which occurred in July.  He was charged with suspicion of stalking, invasion of privacy, and disorderly conduct but was due to be released on $1500 bond.
