Happy New Year, From the Gaslamp Post!

Posted on December 31, 2012

Since this article was so popular today, I figured that rather than writing a new one I would just update this one for 2013.  The original text in this article is actually from last January, I just never pulled it down.

Well here we are again America; another year gone by and another laid out ahead of us.  2012, what a ride, huh?

Here’s to you America, I wish you all the best this coming 2013.

Tomorrow is uncertain, and by this time next year who knows what will have happened.

One thing that I wish is that we as a people finally wake up and see what has happened to us as a nation, since we turned our back on our God.  We have moved away our faith in Him and instead placed it in man.  We thought that the answers were in a human morality, rather than in righteousness to our creator.

We look to men to fix our problems when men continually fail and let us down.

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:7

First thing though, we have to change our mindset:

But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33

2013 brings alot of fear and uncertainty for many Americans, and rightfully so.  We dug this hole for ourselves, so therefore we will reap the consequences of it.  I hope that each of you either realizes that God is there and finally hear Him, or if you already believe in Him, work on your relationship with Him.

None of us is perfect, Lord knows I’m pretty far from; but that doesn’t mean we just throw our hands up and walk away.  If we want our country back, then we need to reach out to the One who gave it to us in the first place.

Happy New Year America, if you’re out please be safe, if you’re at home and hopefully with your loved ones, hold them tight.

God Bless you all America! – tglp
