The United States (The Gaslamp Post) – Looming Crisis… Fiscal Cliff… Do-Nothing Congress… Debt Ceiling… War on the Middle-Class… War on Women… Pay Their Fair Share… Gun Control…
America, the preceding list is buzz words that were thrown at you from Congress over this past year. Their purpose, which should come as no surprise, is to steer your attention to something impending while at the same time distracting you from what else is going on.
This clown in Washington is looking to push money over to this voting bloc, that crook is looking to shuffle money over to those who vote for him. Keep their voters happy while calling all others’ special interests or lobbyists.
Either way you look at it, it’s YOUR money that they’re forgetting to remind you of that they’re spending.
Once again we’re back onto the Amnesty subject. Funny how just a week ago we were riding the wave of what the government is going to do, might do, could possibly do; to your 2nd Amendment rights.
Now the media is shoving all of that aside so we can all go back to right before the election and start the vicious circle all over, once again. That’s right we’re back to Amnesty for the poor illegal aliens.
There’s just too many here to do anything about, they say…
They just want to be Americans too, they say…
They’ve been stuck in the shadows and it’s not fair to the children who are here through no fault of their own, they say…
The president thinks that we should just make anyone who is here a citizen and give preferential treatment to illegals, over those who are abiding by our laws. Nevermind that they’re raping, killing, damaging property, clogging up our emergency rooms, and filling up our prisons, we should bend our laws to accommodate more criminals.
While the right was bashed since the time of Bush 41 over the Republican’s inability to secure the border at the liking of greedy corporations who like cheap labor, the left would seem an unlikely accomplice. Given the history of the Democrat party and their staunch distain for immigrant influence on trades and wages (of the working man), it is curious as to why they would now be in favor of such a societal suicide move.
Going back to before the turn of the last century, coal miner’s unions went on strike all over the United States in retaliation to Irish and Italian immigrants stealing jobs away from hard working Americans. Even back in 1893 during the economic depression which was set off by the railroad bubble bursting, coal miners lost wages and went on protest against their falling wages.
Believe it or not there were several other economic depressions besides the Great Stock Market Crash of 1929…
The drop in demand due to the depression, otherwise known as the Great Panic of 1893, sent prices of coal into the dirt, which in turn dropped the miner’s wages. When the unions nationwide walked off the job in what was called the Bituminous Coal Miner’s Strike, mine operators had no choice but to hire whatever labor they could.
When the unions blamed the falling wages on corporate greed, crooked Republicans, and cheap immigrant labor; they went on a rampage attacking the Irish and Italian coal miners. At one point in 1894, union workers engaged police in LaSalle, Illinois, in a firefight which ended when officers ran out of ammunition and had to flee.
The union held the mine from that day in May until July when armed private citizens took it back.
The Democratic Party sided with the unions and blamed the loss in wages on the Republicans and their lust for cheap immigrant labor (nevermind there was a DEPRESSION going on). It was easy for them to simply say that the immigration and shady business practices were the vice of the right, but truth be told the operators or robber-barons as they were called, played both sides of the fence.
Any businessman knew he would need political influence so he would throw money at multiple candidates regardless of party affiliation. Whoever won the election was still his guy. The whole Republican vs. Democrat struggle for power was just as much a ruse then as it is today.
You think we would have wised up in 118 years.
The 20th Century came and went with left vs. right and labor vs. immigrant politics. Nothing much changed with that narrative until our current employee whom resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington D.C.
Now it is curious that a politician representing a political party so historically anti-immigrant would take such a stand on not just immigration, but on illegal aliens across the board. Wouldn’t taking this stand be an outright slap in the face to big labor?
Yes it’s the voters stupid, we get it. Create a group of malcontented people and then convince them that they are victims of someone else’s misdeeds or actions – right out of the Alinsky playbook. So why then would he do it?
Some would say because it all goes back to his 2008 campaign promise to “fundamentally change America.” Others would say because he’s a Marxist, hell bent on attempting to succeed where other Communists failed. Still others would say because he’s avenging the victims of Colonialism as would have been the intention of one Frank Marshall Davis.
In recent weeks, since the State Of The Union Address and then the rebuttal to the address, Republicans (some not all) are now changing their tune in what was up until a few years ago when the Tea Party came in and cleaned house. The so-called Conservatives are now saying that the GOP needs to get with the times and address the new face of America.
As we watch RINOs emerge, emboldened with foolish notions that it was the GOP’s stance on illegal immigration, gay marriage, and free birth control that kept President Obama in office, I’ll be damned if they’re actually believing it. Not just believing it, but now acting on it.
So what is the Republican’s plan? It’s to do what’s right for America (so they say) and not what the president has said that he wanted to do.
The bi-partisan plan introduced by the best and brightest of the morons on Capitol Hill; Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL.) Sen. John McCain (R-AZ.), Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), have come up with their own revolutionary plan.
They believe that what is best for America is that they allow these some 11 Million illegal aliens to stay BUT, they must register for a special ID card, and then they can go to the back of the line like everyone else.
When they register, they will have to pay back taxes and of course there will be a fine. Then after they have performed those tasks they will be subject to what every other alien seeking U.S. citizenship will be subject to.
Everything but having to GO BACK TO THEIR OWN COUNTRY….
Are these clowns serious? First of all, what makes these clowns think that these illegals are going to sign up for anything?
What, all of a sudden they’re going to sign up because these morons are giving them the opportunity to PAY FINES AND BACK TAXES? What planet did I wake up on, this morning?
Only in 21st Century, boogerhead, dummied-down-America, could you see grown adults stand in front of a camera and say something so stupid. Yeah I can see it now, those illegals are just going to run right out and sign up!
First of all, what is their incentive to sign up? What, to pay fines and back-taxes (which will also carry a penalty)?
Hey, thanks for the ID card, gringo!
What is their alternative? Living here under someone else’s name, having 3 or 4 other identities, not paying taxes, being eligible for welfare and food stamps (under 3 or 4 identities), never having to pay for medical insurance because they can just go to the emergency room, and knowing that if they are ever caught – WE WON’T DEPORT THEM ANYWAYS.
Well it’s good to see you idiots really thought this one through. Someone kindly remind me again, what in blue blazes are we paying these jerks for?
This is the best and brightest? THIS is what WE voted for? THESE are the clowns we put in charge of running the country?
Inasmuch as I’d love to hammer on these geniuses I can’t overlook one simple fact; YOU voted for them America! Whether you cast your ballot for them or sat on your behind on election night because you “don’t get into politics”, you’re just as much at fault.
How is this moronic answer to the utter stupidity of the president’s plan any different? Either way they’re staying here, no?
A story in the Examiner (as well as everywhere else online today) featured a town hall meeting where Sen. McCain had the opportunity to receive feedback for his brilliance in Washington. Guess what? They were even MORE ticked than I.
McCain defended his past and current stances and records on immigration and border security at two town hall meetings he hosted in Arizona on Tuesday. Attendees were quick to share their frustrations and anger directly with the senator.
One man yelled that only guns would discourage illegal immigration. Another man complained that illegal immigrants should never be able to become citizens or vote. A third man said illegal immigrants were illiterate invaders who wanted free government benefits.
Well now if that isn’t the reaction of constituents whose elected official is doing his job, I don’t know what is! </>sarcasm. It wouldn’t be right of me to only feature one side of the political disdain, let’s see why it was that Sen. McCain decided to put this plan forth.
According to the good Senator, he is doing this to help the president. Seriously, this is what he said…
“We think this helps the president,” McCain said.
“I am confident the majority in both houses, led by the president of the United States, who made this a major campaign issue, that we will succeed,” McCain said. “But we’re not going to get everybody on board.”
Help the president? Help the president with what? Do we not have immigration laws? Are these illegal aliens not breaking the law?
How is the president legally and constitutionally eligible to break our laws? Was there some other legislation passed that the rest of us are not aware of?
Exactly whose side are you on Mr. Senator? The side of the lawless? The law breakers? Foreign invaders?
That is grounds for impeachment according to our Constitution unless I’m mistaken. Sen. McCain continues:
“The Republican Party is losing the support of our Hispanic citizens,” McCain said. “We realize that there are many issues that we think we are in agreement with our Hispanic citizens. This is a preeminent issue for those citizens.”
According to the Examiner, Sen. McCain justified this ridiculous statement with this amazing rationale:
“There are 11 million people living here illegally,” McCain said. “We are not going to get enough buses to deport them.”
McCain urged compassion. “We are a Judeo-Christian nation,” he said. McCain’s other town hall meeting took place in Green Valley, south of Tucson.
