Feinstein’s ‘Assault Weapons Ban’ Dumped By Dems, Dies In Senate – Watch Your Back, It Ain’t Over!

Posted on March 19, 2013

Washington D.C. (The Gaslamp Post) – Yes America, the rumors you heard are true; Dianne Feinstein’s (D-CA) controversial Assault Weapons Ban – which was an integral part of the advancing gun control legislation officially died in the senate today, during a closed door pow wow with Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid (D-NV).  After it was decided that the bill on it’s face stood no chance of achieving the required 3/5 majority vote needed to pass  the Senate, Democrat leadership decided to dump the highly opposed legislation and salvage what they could.

assault bats

The bill which is scheduled to reach the Senate floor next month, will not contain legislation which bans high-capacity magazines and the 160 some-odd firearms which for no other reason than simple cosmetics, are listed as “assault weapons.”  “I very much regret it,” Sen. Feinstein told reporters of Reid’s decision. “I tried my best.  Obviously I’m very disappointed…. The enemies on this are very powerful. I’ve known that all my life.”

Reid said that “using the most optimistic numbers,” there were less than 40 votes for Feinstein’s ban. That is far less than the 60 needed to begin considering legislation.

“I’m not going to try to put something on the floor that won’t succeed. I want something that will succeed. I think the worst of all worlds would be to bring to something to the floor and it dies there,” Reid said.

Instead of Feinstein’s highly opposed legislation being part of the pith and marrow of the controversial gun control bill, she’s leaving the option open for introducing it later as an amendment to the bill.  That would of course depend highly on whether or not it passes.

So that’s cause for celebrating, right?  We can let our guard down and go back to sleep – the strong hand of big brother is going away.

America, don’t you buy this load of crap for one second!  Neither Feinstein nor the assault weapons ban legislation are going away.

Remember, she said that she intends to reintroduce her legislation as an amendment to the gun control legislation, and even though it may not pass in the Senate, the original bill (which let us not forget would prevent you from giving your guns to your children and would pave the way to make you enter into a national database) they believe they can get GOP support to pass.

The mere fact that Feinstein’s wish list didn’t make the cut has nothing to do with our elected representatives doing the bidding of those whom they are paid to represent, but everything to do with an agenda.  What agenda could that be?  If her legislation failed, then American’s won, right?

Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV)

Remember what I’ve been telling you about these clowns, America; when they say black they mean white, and when they say up they mean down.  When they show you their left hand, pay close attention to what their right is doing…

What are you talking about, Uncle Gaslamp??????

Although Senators are elected to 6-year-terms, there are elections for them which alternate every 2 years.  In the upcoming elections in 2014, the Democrats stand to lose at least 7 seats.  The following clowns realized that if Feinstein’s bill passed, they would all be toast!

Sen. Mark Begich (D-AK)

Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR)

Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA)

Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT)

Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.)

Sen. Tim Johnson (D-S.D.)

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.)

For the record, Sen. Rockefeller’s term which ends in January 2015 is up for grabs, since he has already announced his intention to retire at the end of his term.

It is for this reason and this reason alone that Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) decided to advise Sen. Feinstein (D-CA) to put aside her highly disdained legislation; that the Senate Democrats stand to lose 7 seats next year and he himself is up for reelection in 2016.

It has nothing to do with the will of the people, this move has to do with maintaining power.

Let us also not forget that former Sec. State Hillary Clinton is positioning herself for a 2016 run for the White House.  How would her 2015 year campaign have fared had this bill come to a vote as-is, and EPICALLY failed.  She’s going to need 4 years to let people forget about this fiasco and the party tied to it.

Benghazi? That’s so 10 minutes ago…

How about potentially losing as many seats in the Senate as the Democratic party stands to lose because of this attack on the American people?  The hell President Rutherford B. Hayes (19) was put through during the reign of Sen. Roscoe Conkling (R-NY) in the Senate would be nothing compared to what a deadlocked Congress would do to her (Google it).

Tonight, while the mainstream media is telling you that everything is alright, Uncle Gaslamp is telling you to watch your backs!  This fight is far from over, and it’s not going away.  They’re only restructuring their attack.

Be alert, be vigilant, and keep your eyes dialed in 1000 yards down; they won’t announce their next attack.
