The Battle Over Guns: Some Republicans Want To Limit Bullet Buys By Federal Law Enforcement So Americans Can Buy More Ammo

Alabama (Charles J. – In their zeal to make sure Americans can buy all the bullets they want some Republicans want to cut back on how much ammo federal law enforcement agencies can buy.

The Hill newspaper reported this weekend that Oklahoma Sen. Jim Inhofe and Rep. Frank Lucas, both Republicans, have introduced a bill that would put limits on how many bullets all federal agencies could purchase each year. The limits would not apply to the U.S. military.

The two GOP lawmakers contend that President Barack Obama’s administration is buying unnecessarily large amounts of ammo for federal law enforcement agencies in order to dry up the amount of bullets Americans can buy.
